Mountains and Villages

My friend Patrick planned a trip in the mountains last weekend. It took about 4 hours to travel to Morogoro, Tanzania where the mountains are located. Then it took another two hours driving on the curvaceous and winding mountain. Once we finally reached a stopping point we got out of the car, the friend we were with said it would only take 30 minutes to get to the waterfall, so before eating lunch, we decided to go because it was a short trip to get there. After 2 hours of hiking in the mountains and then over 150 steps going up these stone stairs, we finally reached the waterfall, I guess we were off on timing, but it was worth it. The site was beautiful, like nothing I’ve seen before. I was truly amazed, although I was hungry and tired, it was worth it! We all got in the water, as the waterfall came crashing down, I was soaking wet… After a while we decided to go back to the car, so we could go find some food in one of the villages. Our friend Clenga visits the mountains often, especially one particular village.

To get to the village we had to drive up the mountain even further, but it started to rain and the car we were in struggled… swerving up the mountain with the drop so close was terrifying, but like everyone said it’s an experience. It was definitely an experience I will never forget!

Enjoy some pictures… I would upload more, but it would take forever to do so because the WiFi here is not like it is at home, but I hope you enjoy!
